Charities I Love
(Too many to name, but here are the ones I worked closest with)
Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Calgary
I have been a mentor to my Little for over 11 years. He is a kid that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks without a Dad in the picture. Our weekly outings included fun activities, but more importantly, bonding and guidance for life. I may have got as much out of it as he did.

I also hosted their major fundraising gala every year.
Dreams Take Flight Calgary
This is a wonderful organization that sends kids that have been dealt a tough hand in life with a one-of-a-kind trip to Disneyland. I have volunteered with this organization for 11 years: trip day, emcee for their events, gala organizing committee, and anything else they want me to do.
Calgary Humane Society
As soon as I moved to Calgary, I met with these fine folks to make them partners with our radio station.

I hosted all their events and galas, big & small. After our dog of 12 years passed away (when the time was right), they helped match my family and I with a dog that needed a break in life - in came our Eddie.

Ronald McDonald House
I was proud to be on their Board of Directors and emcee for the annual “Cassie Campbell Street Hockey Festival” - which was the largest road hockey tournament in the world.

Over the 12 years of the event, it raised over $3.5 million, and hosted over 2,000 players every year.
ALS Canada
On the Board of Directors and assisted in the planning of all major events and fundraisers. In addition to planning the events, I also emceed them.
This charity is near and dear to my heart, as my mom passed away from this horrible disease over 30 years ago.
Calgary Food Bank
My son and I have picked up food around the city of Calgary for over 10 years, and plan on continuing this gesture to help out the people in our city that need it most.
Toy Angels
I helped host an annual toy drive for the radio station, collecting toys for the less fortunate in our city, in collaboration with Salvation Army.
I promoted the event and then assisted in collecting items throughout the city.
In my son's first year of U18 hockey, we corralled his team and did a bottle drive - raising over $1800 in cash. The team then took that money and went to WalMart and shopped for Toy Angels; they purchased various games, toys, and a bike. The boys walked away with bigger hearts that day.
Make-A-Wish Alberta
This is a charity I would do anything for. I emceed most of their events and also rappelled down a building downtown to raise money and awareness for this great cause; I might add that I am a little afraid of heights, but the charity was more than worth the mini heart attacks on the way down :)
