Finally a May Long weekend where the weather was alright. It wasn't exactly summertime weather in Calgary, but definitely better than some years. I remember leaving Mt. Kidd a few years ago after the beer froze outside the trailer on night 1 & we were unsure if we could get the trailer out of the snow.
This weekend had all the makings of lawn prep & getting the deck ready for some afternoon drinks at the house. We finally got the remainder of my son's ODR dismantled, plywood, brackets & tarp put away. Always interesting to lift the tarp to see how many mice made that their home the past 6 months. Lots of mouse houses, but the actual mice were gone.
You will never truly understand the tendencies of a Golden Retriever unless you have one. My son & I cut & trimmed the lawn, and Charley, the Golden, assumes her usual grass roll to become as green as possible. Never fails. Her nickname is Fiona (as in Shrek's girlfriend) after each cut. Mama gets annoyed and keeps our poor girl outside for a bit. It is pretty funny.
