It was a great weekend of hockey, and some much needed soul refreshing in the Mountains.
This past weekend my son was invited to the Canmore Eagles prospect camp. There are some really good players in our Province who are vying for a spot at training camp for this Junior A club. My son played early afternoon on Friday, so I picked him up from school a little early, and off to the Bow Valley we went. Myself, my kid, my buddy Brent, and my two dogs Eddie & Charley. We rented a beautiful 2 bedroom condo on the edge of town, and that was home base in between games. We always get a VRBO vs a hotel room, because my son has the need to wash his gear between every ice time. Superstition or cleanliness?! He’s not normally like this with street clothes so I’ll let you decide. I’ll say this, hockey players are very superstitious.
He played 4 great games, did very well & had a ton of fun. Now you wait to see if you’re contacted to take the next step- training camp in the summer.
You don’t put all your eggs in one basket as they say as we’re off to Prince George next weekend, and Vancouver Island the week after that. Hockey, where there used to be an off-season lol.
