Love where you live!

mookiew4

My family & I aren't originally from Alberta, we actually hail from Southern Ontario. After living in Calgary in the early 2000's and moving back to Ontario, we knew we would be back some day. Ontario is amazing, our family is there, we also have access to a family cottage in Sauble Beach, home of the greatest sunsets in the world.

But it's not Alberta, and they don't have the Majestic Rocky Mountains. If I'm ever having a bad day, I take a drive to the Mountains. Mountain therapy I call it. Hell, there's even a sign as you enter Radium, BC, that says, "Mountains Shall Bring Peace to the People." Nailed it!!

We just got back from 10 days camping in Kananaskis, and it was amazing! Golf, hikes, swimming, bike rides, Grizzly Bear sightings etc etc. It is the most relaxing/soulful holiday you can take. Who needs Mexico when you can visit Kananaskis, less than an hour from my front door.

My advice to myself has always been to live like a tourist in the city where I work, and in radio, bring those passions on the air. Love for your city & province builds a great connection with the listener.
