I had a chance to go to game 2 of the Battle of Alberta. Despite Calgary having a 2-0 & 3-1 leads, they eventually lost that game to the Edmonton Oilers. I can't tell you how many chirps I threw in the faces of Oiler fans during the course of the game. At one point at 2-0 Flames, an Oiler fan got up to grab a drink. He looked like he was leaving, so I wished him a good night. Boy did I get an earful after the game. That's the great part about sports. You have zero control what your team does on the ice/field, but you live or die by their performance. My record for Flames in person in the playoffs is enough to keep me away forever.
In other news, my son just wrapped up his hockey showcase. It was all Junior B/AAA players on the ice. Pressure is a privilege, and playing all weekend in front of Junior scouts from across the continent scrutinizing their every shift is both fun & nerve-wracking.
