I honestly never thought I would add College Professor (I guess instructor is more appropriate) to my resume, but here we are,
When I was offered to teach Radio at SAIT in the summer I was both excited and terrified. In fact I almost declined a few times, afraid I might let down those that paid good money to be there. Not to mention, most of the classes I was teaching were 3 hours. Can you imagine me, no music or commercials for 3 hours?!
The oral part I wasn't worried, but the paperwork with marking etc was a hurdle I thought might be tough. My son, who is 18, helped me out. In fact he was a Godsend the entire time helping me get organized with lesson planning etc.
Did I mention how awesome the whole experience was?! I think the perspective I took was that of an equal, and not an actual authority figure. Someone who had years experience and could help them get on the right track.
I think the real exciting part for me will be when I hear them on the radio for the first time. I can't imagine how proud I will be.
